Understanding How E-mail Marketing Could Work to Your Business' Advantage - Part 1

thumb it up Paul Fitzgerald
You might be discouraged to use e-mail now as a marketing tool after having been banned for spamming, which didn't exactly help your sales all along. And to think, you hired an e-mail company to do that specific kind of marketing tool for your business. It was all a waste of time and money and you are completely discouraged with e-mail marketing.

But you are neglecting the fact that sending e-mails to your targeted audience is one of the best ways to keep them updated and remind them of your business' existence. What you really need to do is use this type of tool the right way. Despite your experience with the previous e-mail company, there are actually other reputable such companies that can ultimately help your business.

E-mail marketing companies are supposed to be experts in this field and have the right skills in generating legitimate users list, personalizing e-mails, tracking e-mails, feedback, and requests, as well as keeping the list clean.

Finding and hiring a genuine e-mail marketing company that can create a great marketing plan for your business can prove to be beneficial since running your business' marketing campaign can really be time consuming. However, if you don't want to take anymore chances with that option, then of course, you can create your own e-mail marketing plan.

The first thing you should keep in mind is acquiring a legitimate list of users. You know, the ones that are acquainted with your website and product or service. Although, you can easily purchase of a list of recipients for your e-mails, you really don't want to try that one. It would be just repeating the same mistakes all over again.

What you can do instead is invite, well, encourage your website's visitors to subscribe in your product updates or newsletters. Of course, you should not sound pushy in your encouragements but appealing. But this does not solely rely on your invitation. Another factor that would ultimately drive your visitors to subscribe would be the contents of your website. If they find anything useful then surely, they will opt in.

Once the users sign up, confirm their subscription by sending a confirmation e-mail. And if you want to get a little more information from your subscribers, you can ask for their name, address and perhaps their geological location, nothing invasive of their privacy although certain businesses would be an exception.

And when sending mails to your subscribers, it would help that you mails are somewhat personalised. Although sending a few personalised mails is fine, but what if you have to send hundreds? Then, you should probably consider subscribing to an automated mailing programme.
